  • By Car: Some sat navs direct vehicles off the A6 Derby bypass into Elvaston Castle Country Park via a slip road to Bridlegate Lane, Alvaston. There’s no access to the park via this route (nor turning room). The lane is clearly marked off the by-pass with a ‘dead-end’ highways sign- please do not head down here.


    Your sat nav may also direct you into the estate by a sealed bridle path off Borrowash Road (this also leads to Elvaston Cricket Club’s grounds.)This access route is for authorised vehicles only, with no parking permitted.

  • By Bus: There are no bus services that stop directly outside the main entrance to the park. However, bus 73 (Arriva) and the Skylink Derby (TrentBarton) both stop by Elvaston Castle Gates in Thulston.

The estate entrance and car park is located off Borrowash Road between Borrowash Village and Thulston. Just follow the brown tourist signs from either direction and they’ll direct you to the car park- for this event we will be using the showground overflow car park. This will be free to all runners and spectators.


Please Note: The showground car park will close after the event, If you want to stay on site to enjoy the area, you will need to move your car into the main car park after your race (this is pay and display).

Are Dogs Allowed?

While we adore our four-legged friends, we regret to inform you that dogs aren't allowed for both runners and spectators at this event. Your understanding is greatly appreciated!


Bag drop?


There will be an informal bag drop within the event village for you to leave any belongings during the race. Please ensure your label is attached to your bag before dropping it off with our marshals.


Anything left within the bag drop is left at your own risk.
